Hi, I’m Pelayo Arbués
I lead Data and AI teams at idealista, Southern Europe’s largest real estate marketplace, where my teams has shipped 90+ AI projects across automated valuation, search, fraud detection, and content moderation. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics and have published 7 peer-reviewed papers on spatial data science and machine learning in journals.
I believe AI succeeds when it amplifies domain expertise rather than replacing it, and that most data science teams fail by chasing technical sophistication instead of business impact. I write and speak about that gap, and I teach applied AI at IE University and The Valley.
When I’m not thinking about models and organizations, I shoot analog photography and read about creative processes and philosophy.
